The Princess of Awesomeness begins … started on a pinnacle, a new era for me. It’s officially on for the second half of my life. It’s my “half-way there” party. You see, as a small child when I was between the ages of 8 and 10, I knew I was going to live to be a triple-digit person, a centurion. I was going to get that certificate from the Queen (I don’t even know how I knew they give out certificates for such as feat) Also, now as I have aged, I realize that it will probably be a King! Anyway, at one decade old, I declared to my mom, and anyone else who would listen…I was going to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. There was something about summiting the tallest freestanding mountain in the world that appealed to me. It made my heart sing!
I carried that dream for three more decades, and completed it slightly before my 40th birthday. WHOOP WHOOP!
Rewind to my 20’s when I declared I would do something awesome each decade. From there, it evolved into ‘why only each decade?’. How about something full of awesomeness every five years? This morphed into every second year. This, too, evolved even further ….proudly, with gratitude, I now acknowledge AWESOMENESS each and everyday.
This fall, the Princess of Awesomeness Trophy was awarded to me in Vancouver during the PHOTOgraphie Festival. My presentation challenged the members to push forward; strive to try something new and different for themselves. At the end of the presentation, I was given a tiara as a thank you gift. It was serendipitous to say the least! As the two were not related, but yet were! The timing was perfect.
Don’t be fooled by this! There was a lot of hard work bringing the Princess of Awesomeness to fruition. If it truly was that easy everyone would be doing it. It is official. I am the Princess of Awesomeness! My goal is to spread Awesomeness everywhere I go. And more important to me is to empower people (ya this could be YOU!) to see their own awesomeness. Each person can create and define their own definition of awesomeness. That is the joy of what I teach. Like a fingerprint, everyone will have their own definition of awesomeness. We are all unique creatures. I wouldn’t want the world any other way. I don’t want ” fine” I want awesome. Live life on your own terms!
You can be your own prince or princess. We don’t have to label it as feminine and masculine. I lived the first half of my life embracing my inner tomboy, wearing a ball-cap working in a male-dominated workforce. Suited me fine, but not awesome. For the second half, I traded in the ball-cap for a tiara. Who would have ever predicted that! We all have the yin and yang please remember to define it what works for YOU…and in the meantime… what’s your AWESOMENESS? If you don’t know, go find it!
